CdSe Nanocrystals (NCs), capped with octadecanamine (ODA), were synthesized according to a modified procedure, in which reaction temperature for Cd and Se precursors and NC growth time were optimized. The prepared NCs were characterized and found narrowly dispersed. Electrochemical bandgaps determined by cyclic voltammetry agree well with ones measured by spectroscopic methods. In the diameter range from 2.30 to 2.65 nm, two colors (510 nm and 663 run) of electrogenerated chemiluminescence were emitted from these NCs. Mechanisms to produce ECL were explored at various stimulus conditions (applied voltage). ECL enhancement by aging methods was observed.
