摘要

In this paper, we propose an enhancement algorithm based on partial differential equations (PDE) for passive millimeter wave images. The algorithm tries to make the modification of the diffusion coefficient in Perona&Malik equation. The diffusion coefficient is controlled by both image gradient and the local noise estimation as result it differentiates the edges from noise area adaptively, which is very important in the reducing heavy noise. The approach reflects the advantages of application of PDE on noisy image enhancement more effectively in comparison with its counterparts. The algorithm is applied to smooth noise of passive millimeter wave images and the simulation results show that it reduced the noise and preserves the edges simultaneously.
