Application of Microwave NDT On-service Inspection Operating Station in Electric Techniques

Quantity and reliability of tools of power insulator and live line work can affect not only to safe and economic of distribution network of power system but also to workers of live line work, because of which an intelligent microwave nondestructive testing (NDT) on-service inspection workstation, with automatic scan and fitting to near field area, is introduced. Compared with ultrasonic NDT technology, the originality of microwave NDT is given. Using technology of millimeter-wave, the sensor and the microwave NDT system have been designed which is composed of the computer that is thought of as core, machine-scan and microwave NDT mode assembly. Successfully researched, the system has been used in insulate testing and diagnosis analysis of organism insulate material in rigid insulate tool of power system. The results show that the system is successful, having great technological economic and social valuable.
