摘要

A new type of analyzer for cable & antenna, based on frequency domain reflectometry technique, is presented. The system implements measurement of the cable & antenna system's performance parameters and fault location for transmission lines. In the design, a signal generated by the swept frequency source is delivered to the tested antenna. It then measures the reflection coefficients of the antenna feed point using the vector voltage ratio detector and stores the measurement data for display. The user can analyze the performance of the cable & antenna system through calculating the SWR or return loss by the reflection coefficient. The data obtained is also uploaded into the computer via RS-232 interface. A PC software can store an unlimited number of data traces for performance analysis. It can detect precisely cable, connector and other issues related to antenna before a significant trouble occurs to the cable & antenna system, which is a breakthrough compared with the traditional fix-after-failure maintenance process.
