This paper presents the structure and performance of a relatively lower cost system which measures far-field phase, amplitude and gain of small-size antennas in the frequency range 2-18GHz and then presents antenna patterns and related data. A method of compensating measurement errors is also proposed and the characterization of an antenna with circular polarization or linear polarization can be obtained through the system.
