We start with an overview of IEEE 802.16 based WiMAX technology and the concepts of radio over fiber technology. Then the proposed RoF based microcellular system for WiMAX networks is presented with a following of investigation on a practical implement and operation scheme of the RoF WiMAX networks. Finally we conclude the work.
