In order to eliminate the inherent "stair step" caused by the existing Direct Rapid Metal Tooling method, a laser bevel cutting technique was introduced. With the manufacturing process, the stair step is finished layer by layer using laser cutting technique according to a sliced 3D model. Through the systemic experiments, the relationship between laser cutting factors and cutting quality, microstructure and micro hardness were investigated. The experimental results show that the surface roughness(Ra)of the cut surface would be less than 3~4μm, and the properties of laser machining surface are better than the inner matrix under the optimal process parameters.
