Web-based Quoting and Production Operation System for Mould Base Manufacturing

The development strategy and method for web-based mould base quoting, operation scheduling and tracing system have been presented. Three methods of case-based quoting, price book based quoting and cost item accumulating are implemented. With the input of mould base specification, the special plate dimensions and special manufacturing requirements, the quoting module can calculate all the plates' material purchase costs and manufacturing costs, and form the quotation sheet accordingly, keeping all the related information accessible for downstream applications. The CAPP can be interactively done by automated extract of users' special manufacturing requirements. The operation scheduling can be carried out through an interface with all the related information at hands. With the recording of all the plates' beginning and ending time at every work spot, all the statistic information can be gotten and analyzed. The software system is developed on J2EE platform by adopting B/S structure and SQL Serve.
