We presents a link level performance evaluation and comparison of Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC) and conventional receivers in a synchronous GSM network scenario. The SAIC receiver is equipped with a Maximum signal to Noise Ratio (MaxSNR) FIR filter. This interference rejection method has been proven to be very effective in suppressing single co-channel and adjacent-channel interferers, however, in single co-channel scenario, raw BER performance are affected by a severe floor close to 10-3. In this paper it will be shown how the floor can be removed allowing the SAIC receiver to show a constant gain when compared to a conventional receiver.
