This article expounds the new achievements of China's Pidgeon process in technology, process, equipment, technological and economic indexes and product development and applications in the recent 10 years. It analyzes problems existed in environment protection and energy usage. It advises that China's magnesium industry should not rely on import, nor produce and export primary magnesium product only. It is necessary to study the export of high value added magnesium products. It's a must to base ourselves upon domestic market and make efforts to develop magnesium alloy and boost the development of domestic magnesium application market. We must encourage, support and assist foreign enterprise to run enterprises in China, Sino-foreign joint venture and cooperative business and the combination of advanced foreign technology, equipment with China's resource and laborer advantages and produce high-end products and expand the requirement of domestic magnesium application fields and enhance international competitiveness.
