Integrated Waste Management System in Mindanao, Philippines

摘要

This paper dealt with the comprehensive framework for research, development and management strategies of Integrated Waste Management System in Mindanao. Specifically, this shares experiences on the system of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in the selected communities in Mindanao. Findings showed that every community has its own unique profile regarding solid waste management. The composition of the waste varies depending on diverse variables such as urbanization, commercial enterprises manufacturing and service sector activities. Opportunities can be drawn through research, development and expanded community based action program for MRF as well as management challenges can be improved through synchronization of components and sub-components and expansion of multidisciplinary -participatory based programs.
