Eco-Industrial Estate system has been developed in Thailand for several years. BPIE is one of official industrial estates, located in a neighborhood of Bangkok. It has been targeted to use waste exchange management hierarchy as a tool for eco-industrial system among other five Ies around the country. Recently, only two Waste Exchange Information Centers (WEIC) have been established, but not in IE. To utilize more solid wastes, the third WEIC was then attempted to setup inside BPIE. A Waste Exchange System was simply created with Microsoft Office Access 2003. Primarily data in this database was obtained from 108 out of 383 factories in BPIE. The advantages of this database provide more information, consisting of factory name, factory type and general process, location and address, waste type and amount, and disposal method. Six feasible waste exchange networks were purposed, including glass scrap (0.9 kT), steel scrap (31 kT), plastic scrap (2.9 kT), paper waste (16 kT), wood (0.2 kT), and chemical sludge (5.6 kT). This database is useful for 4 main individual sectors: 1) waste users, 2) waste generators, 3) estate information center, and 4) executive manager for further developing plan. Focusing on steel scrap exchange, 4 factories would be available as waste users, whereas 33 factories would be possible to provide the waste regularly 31 kTons presented in 2004.
