A Differentiate Service Mechanism in Wireless Sensor Networks

摘要

Data aggregation is a common mechanism to save energy in wireless sensor network. Although data aggregation can reduce redundant network flow, it results in great end-to-end delay because aggregation node needs to wait data arrival from all sensor nodes. This is intolerable for real-time applications such as emergent event monitoring. This paper presents a differentiate service mechanism. Aggregation node adopts different service policy for different applications. Simulation results show that this mechanism can not only ensure delay of real-time applications but also maintain low network energy consumption.
