Characters of groundwater resources and water environmental problems in Anhui Province

摘要

This paper sketches the natural conditions and spatio-temporal distribution of water resources in Anhui Province. Especially, it represents the environment geological problems, such as decline of groundwater level and land subsidence, karstic earthen cave collapse and ground deformation and endemic diseases, caused by irrational exploitation and utilization of groundwater and human's economic activities. These problems seriously block the sustainable development of economy, society and environment of Anhui Province. In order to cope with these problems, measures of sustainable utilization of water resources are discussed in the last part of this paper.
