Low-temperature geothermal waters of continental margin of Far East of Russia

The results of geochemical studies of low-temperature geothermal waters, occurring on the coast of Japan and Okhotsky seas of Russia are reported in the paper and compared with similar well-known areas of the Primorskiy region. All the waters are classified as alkaline Na-HCO3-SO4 or Na-HCO3 type of waters.Based on δ18O and δ2H isotopic ratios, origin of the low-temperature geothermal waters have been recognized.Received data indicate that geothermal waters have meteoric origin and chemical composition is forming as a result of water-rock interaction. Also subsurface temperatures for studied geothermal areas were estimate using different types of geothermometers.
