Analysis of a Wavelet-Based Robust Hash Algorithm

This paper is a quantitative evaluation of a wavelet-based, robust authentication hashing algorithm. Based on the results of a series of robustness and tampering sensitivity tests, we describe possible shortcomings and propose various modifications to the algorithm to improve its performance. The second part of the paper describes an attack against the scheme. It allows an attacker to modify a tampered image, such that it's hash value closely matches the hash value of the original.
