With the help of thermodynamics, the oxide metallurgy with Ti treatment of low carbon steel is theoretically analyzed. The optimum conditions of molten steel for forming titanium oxide are defined and pr edicted by the thermodynamicsal analysis. The oxide growth during solidification is researched on the basis of a diffusion growth model. The calculation results of the precipitate growth model during solidification indicate that the cooling rate has a great effect on the Ti_2O_3 precipitation during solidification. The increase in the diameter of Ti_2O_3 during solidification is smaller when the cooling rate is higher while the size of Ti_2O_3 precipitated before solidification starting is not changed so much comparatively. Furthermore, the radius of Ti_2O_3 increases slightly with the increase of oxygen content.
