An integrated instrument has been designed and constructed to carry out polymerase chain reactions, biochip hybridization and fluorescence detection. A precision temperature control has been is established in this instrument to increase at a rate of 20°C/s and decrease at a rate of 10°C/s. The run time is typically 4hr for experiment. The machine is made up of a precision temperature controlling system, an automatic sample injection system and fluorescence detection. The chip is mounted on a two-dimension stage, which moves and passes through three function zones and finally fluorescence images are displayed on the PC computer, and detection information is given in the database.
