Relocation of Mediation Node for Data Synchronization and Consistency in P2P Collaborative Applications

We developed the collaborative platform named JXCube for recent years. It enables user to communicate or share their knowledge in a P2P overlay network. Using P2P technology as the principal building block, JXCube makes several innovative contributions: fully distribution, intercommunication. In recent P2P technology, developers can create end-to-end applications with good scalability and discovering. However, in case of collaborative applications on P2P networks, especially real-time based communication tool, data synchronization and consistency are important factor to consider application design. We propose the ACE (Adaptive Coordinator Election) platform that elects and relocates a mediation node adaptively using environmental metrics. And this mediation node mediates some problems such as synchronization, consistency, sequencing, and delay differences for P2P collaborative applications. We implemented our platform and tested using JXTA framework. As a result, we confirmed a relocation of a mediation node adaptively in P2P networks.
