TIGER: a contribution to the GEO Work Plan for water resources and capacity building in Africa

摘要

The TIGER Initiative aims at assisting African countries to overcome problems faced in the collection, analysis and dissemination of water related geo-information by exploiting the advantages of Earth Observation technology. A long-term strategy has been developed supporting the enhancement of institutional, human and technical capacity and strengthening EO-supported systems to achieve improved governance and decision-making. This paper highlights some of the achievements obtained by TIGER during its first implementation phase.
