PREPARATION OF FUELS FROM BIOMASS AND MUNICIPAL WASTES

The issue of creating fuels from biomass and municipal wastes has been explored in many research centres for several last years. 10 years ago, the Department of Technology and Equipment for Waste Management of the Silesian University of Technology devoted a team of its employees to perform research on creating fuels from biomass and municipal wastes and is continuing that work at present. This paper presents chosen research results concerning fuel blends, emissivity and applied research methods. A part of the paper that should focus the most attention is the research method used in examination of fuel emissivity. Fuel research was carried out on both laboratory and industrial scale, which proves correctness of assumptions made for the experiments.
