Copolymerization reaction of sodium lignosulfonate with acrylic acid was carried out in laboratory. The disperse agent for coal water slurry (CWS) was prepared. The influence of reaction time, reaction temperature and condensation of reaction liquid on properties of the disperse agent for CWS was investigated. The experiment of preparing CWS was also carried out. It is shown that the optimum condition is 1 hour of reaction time, 80-90 deg C of reaction temperature and 20 percents of reaction liquid condensation. In the meantime, the construction of the disperse agent was analyzed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer. Mechanism of improving slurry-forming ability with the disperse agent was inquired preliminarily.
