摘要

The stalagmometric method is based on drop period (or weight) measurements and rests on the use of empirically derived correction factors. That important extended measurement potential of the new optical tensiographic technique over tensiometry in both bulk and surface measurement capabilities are demonstrated. Significantly, it is shown that drop-volume surface measurements can be obtained without the use of correction factors. The new approach also suggests methods of classifying surface activity based on a single drop measurement. The paper concludes with a discussion of the possible applications of this new approach in surface, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and brewing science
