摘要

The conditions of single-mode guiding are investigated for PMMA based polymer photonic crystal fibers (PPCF). Single-mode guiding is confirmed from the mode pattern of near field image at wavelength of 1550 nm. The effective index of PPCF is calculated in terms of the air-filling fractions (a_(ff)). The effective V values are obtained in order to evaluate the conditions of single-mode propagation in PPCF. Comparison with the numerical results and the experimentally obtained results will be reported. The dependence of a_(ff) on the effective area and macro-bending coefficient of PPCF will also be presented.
