The introgression line wheat/Aegilops triuncialis TR-3531 carrying resistance to cereal cyst nematode Heterodera avenae (Crel gene) and Hessian fly Mayetiola destructor (H30 gene) has been characterised. It has also been investigated the distributionof two isozyme markers (Adh-U 1, Acph-U1) present in TR-3531 line among available Chinese spring-,Ae. umhellulata addition lines. The Adh-U I was located on 6U addition line, but Acph-Ul was absent in all addition lines. However, Acph-Ul co-segregate with Adh-U 1 in the F_2 generation from the cross between TR-3531 and their susceptible parent T. aestivum H-10-15 (without Crel and H30 genes). Both isozymes were linked to H30 but not linked to Crel. The induction in TR-3531 of several defence responses during early incompatible interaction between the Crel CCN-resistance gene and the Ha71 pathotype of H. avenae has also been studied. Isozyme analysis revealed changes, seven days after nematode infection, in peroxidase, esterase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase and catalase activities in infected roots of the resistant line in comparison to their susceptible parent. Peroxidase activity was preferentially enhanced and not differential activity was found in shikimate dehydrogenase.
