Identification and Determination of Phenolic Compounds from Leaves of Psidium Guajava Linn (Guava) Extracts

Phenolic compounds were extracted with water and ethyl alcohol from dried guava leaves. The extracted liquid was partially concentrated by evaporation under reduced pressure at 40°C, to 10 % of the original volume. The concentrate was freeze - dried and the extracted powder kept in an airtight bottle until analysis. The total phenolic compounds in the extracts was determined spectrophotometrically according to the Folin -
