摘要

Direct measurements of tool temperature during FSW of 6061-T6 aluminum alloys are conducted under a range of different welding parameters. An FM telemetry system is used to transmit and receive experimental data from an array of type K thermocouples mounted at different points in the shoulder of the rotating tool. Surface temperatures of the tool shoulder are estimated by extrapolation. A maximum tool temperature of approximately 800K is observed.
