So why do I need to prove that I am Patrick Waters in so many different ways, for so many different transactions? I have to log on to my corporate network with one username. I have to log onto my banking web site with another username. I have to log on to my air miles account with yet another. I need a SIM card to register myself on the Vodafone network. I need a passport to move from country to country. I need to take along a polling card to vote in Government elections.
