Highly active Ptioo-jRWC electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation have been prepared by a co-impregnation method using carbon black as support and ethanolic solutions of Pt(NH_3)_2(NO_2)_2 and Ru_3(CO)_(12). The effect of the homogeneity and the particle size of the alloy catalyst on the oxidation of the methanol and adsorbed CO were clarified.
