The air-foam treated soil is a mixture of soil and cement containing some amount of air-foam in it. This material is nicknamed as a super-geomaterial (SGM), since the dredged clay or industrial waste is usually employed for reducing not only the earth pressure but also the residual settlement when the SGM is used for earthworks in coastal area. In this paper, the unconfined compression strength, q_u together with the elastic shear modulus, G, from bender element (BE) test, was in detail examined in the laboratory in order to manifest engineering properties of the SGM ground. The variations of q_u and G with curing period, together with the spatial scatter of these properties, were elucidated. The G value from the BE test was also compared to that from in-situ seismic survey to estimate in-situ strength of SGM ground.
