Quantum Data Compression

摘要

The last two decades has witnessed the emergence a new paradigm in information theory based on quantum theory. We review a fundamental element of quantum information theory, source coding, which entails the compression of quantum data. We also briefly outline a recent experiment that demonstrates this fundamental principle.
