In plane spiroid gear the worm is in meshing with face octoid gear. Geometrical models and formulas for calculation of the mechanical efficiency coefficient are shown in the paper. This coefficient depends on combination of inclination directions of the worm coil and gear tooth line. The method of tooth contact ratio calculation is shown, too. This ratio in spiroid meshing is especially high, therefore kinematical accuracy of spiroid gear is high, too. Presented models and formulas are illustrated by numerical examples.
