摘要

With a developed experimental system a continuous liquid carbon dioxide jet with up to 3000 bar was realized. During the technological investigations the velocity and impulse force of high-pressure CO_2 and water jets were analyzed. Identical cutting tests were carried out with AlMg3. Similarities as well as differences of both fluids are shown in the attained jet impact force, jet velocity, cutting surfaces and notches produced by the jet. The experiments indicate that the velocity of the CO_2 jet depends mainly on pressure and nozzle diameter. High-pressure CO_2 jet cutting has a high potential in the field of dry and residue-free cutting.
