The performance of code-division multiple access (CDMA) receivers in multipath fading environment can be significantly enhanced by employing RAKE combining and array processing in conjunction with multiuser detection techniques. In this paper, we propose a technique of combining an adaptive parallel interference cancellation (APIC) with adaptive blind 2D-RAKE receiver. The blind algorithm is formulated using a constrained energy minimization criterion, and the adaptation is carried out using LMS algorithm combined with the gradient-projection algorithm to incorporate the quadratic constraint. Simulation results are presented to show the excellent performance of the proposed structure in comparison with 2D-RAKE receiver.
