The Wavelet Domain is explored for use in Image Correspondence Correction. Image Correspondence Correction is the alteration of one image to correspond more closely to a matching image taken at a different time and under different photometric conditions. The ability to perform such an alteration would be highly useful for applications like Surveillance, Terrain Database Collection, Exploration and Map Building. We explore the use of both global and localized features in both the Wavelet and Spatial domains for this task. Global features may be able to correct for image differences arising due to global changes, like lighting conditions. However, global features may have difficulty when dealing with locally varying conditions. We show that local features on the other hand can be more sensitive to noise than global features and propose fixes to this problem.
