We describe an object-oriented method and an associated simulation tool. The Business Service Relationship Model (BSRM) represents business plans as a set of relationships between business entities. A suite of objects represent various aspects of the model. The attributes and behaviors of these objects provide input to a simulation engine which "runs" the business plan over a period of virtual time. Concepts have been imported from the modeling and simulation community in network modeling to allow the integration of the model with the real-world. The initial framework has been completed and a prototype simulation tool has been implemented. BSRM is not another business process modeling approach but rather as a method for modeling business plans. It allows the integration of various existing approaches for detailed business process modeling within the framework of BSRM. Initially envisioned as a tool for configuring e-commerce business plans, there is no constraint that limits BSRM to that domain.
