This paper studies the uncertain multiple attribute decision making problems with preference information on alternatives, in which the attribute weights, elements in decision matrix (attribute values) and subjective preference values are in the forms of interval numbers, and gives the concept of deviation degree between two interval numbers. A singular objective optimization model is developed and a possibility degree-based approach to ranking alternatives is presented. The approach makes use of the subjective preference information provided by a decision maker (DM) and the normalized objective information to form single objective programming models, and can also be performed on computer easily. Thus, the resultant rankings of alternatives reflect both the subjective considerations of the DM nd the objective information. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its feasibility and practicality.
