Anomalous vertical distribution of stratospheric aerosol layer over Tomsk in December 2017 – January 2018

In the report, we present certain results of studying the vertical distribution of stratospheric aerosol layer (SAL), obtainedat the Siberian Lidar Station, Tomsk in December 2017 – January 2018. A block-diagram of lidar is presented. It isshown the aerosol loading of the stratosphere might be due to the occurrence of polar stratospheric clouds (PSC) as aresult of transport of Arctic air masses to Tomsk.
