The arch multi-storied transfer structure is considered in this paper. It is mainly consist of arch,multi-storied hanger rods and horizontal beams. This type of structure can make full use of the capacity of material, so it can span longer distance. The multi-stories members work together with the arch, and the structure are mainly in axial action. In order to verify an actual 45m large-span arch multi-storied transfer building structure, two 1:10 model specimens (named Sl,S2) were tested under vertical static loads, which were applied to the structure at sixteen joints. The difference between the two specimens was that prestressed tendons were only used in S2. The experimental results indicated; (1) It is feasible to use this type of structure for transfer structure; (2) The vertical loads were transferred from the multi-storied hanger rods to the arch, and the multi-storied horizontal beams worked together with the arch and transfer the load to the lower column; (3) The arch can be designed as flexure-compression members and the beams and rods can be designed as flexure-tension members.
