Load and resistance are the important parameters in the reliability analysis that affect the structural reliability level directly. Based on the investigations on the floor live load and resistance parameters of typical residential buildings, such as the material strength and dimension tolerance of structural members, and so on, the paper systematically studies the present reliability level of residential buildings, analyses the structural reliability as a result of altering the value of floor live load and increasing load when the room is decorated, and discovers the reasons why the reliability of reinforced concrete flexural member decrease.
