Circulating Fluidized Bed boilers (CFB) are usually optimised for full load operation. But, as a result of his high level of electricity produced by nuclear power plants, EDF is often operating fossil fuel plants in "semi base" or peak load. Thanks to a global numerical modeling, this paper carried out, for an hypothetical CFB boiler design, the exercise of calculating the performance of the boiler for part load operation. Furthermore, depending on the way to operate the boiler, it predicts the minimum load allowable and the consequences on parameters such as boiler efficiency or furnace temperature.
