A CODING MECHANISM FOR BUSINESS PROCESS OPTIMISATION USING GENETIC ALGORITHMS: INITIAL THOUGHTS

By designing and implementing an activity and transaction based classification and coding system, a process model may be represented as a chromosome with the aim of then optimising it via the use of evolutionary computation. This paper suggests a methodology for analysing and coding a process, and goes on to demonstrate how the process could then be optimised, in this instance based on cost and value criteria.
