摘要

The aim of this research is to examine the pre-travel behaviors of a touch trigger probe and predict its effect on coordinate measurement. The outcome demonstrates: (1) the pre-travel variation of a Renishaw TP2 type of touch trigger probe can be well described with the model proposed in reference [5]; (2) The experimental method developed in this research can exactly identify the factor values in the model; (3) Averaging the measured profile data is a valid tool to remove the influence caused by measurement uncertainty on the identification results; (4) The identification results based on a two-dimensional profile measurement of ring gauge are available to utilize compensating three-dimensional measurement data for the effect of pre-travel variation.
