Concept of CAT in Czech Army Forces

The Czech Army has built the National Center of Simulation and Training Technologies, Ground Forces Training Center which are base facilities for training, education and research in the Czech Army. The centers use ModSAF for the battle simulation (the primary simulation model for battalion and brigade staff training by CAX) and for the conduct of battle vehicles virtual simulators (T-72 tank, BVP1 and BVP2, e.g.). Czech Air Forces are going to set-up L-159 FMS and a supersonic fighter in AF bases to provide pilot training as well. The simulators use terrain databases of every Czech training areas Experiments concerning network was done for testing of WAN loading during experimental distributed exercises provided by constructive and virtual simulation on the battalion level exercise. Czech Army prepare to total professionalization and adapt its training cycle. The paper presents main ideas, their realization and experiences that could be useful for other countries introducing and using the simulations for the training.
