APPLICATION OF SIMULATION TECHNIQUES IN SHANGHAI AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY AND DEVELOPMENT

摘要

The achievement of the simulation technique applied in the automobile industry is obvious to all. Rapid prototyping environment has advantages both in sparing time (less development-cycles), and in cutting cost (less physical models and tests) , which is the goal of all automobile companies. The Chinese automotive industry has also urgent demand for simulation technique. With the support of STCSM (Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Committee) and SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corporation), we have carried on a series of projects about full vehicle virtual prototyping to predict the vehicle dynamics characteristics and research on the feasibility of ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) control. The simulation results provided the automobile manufacturer with the theoretical foundation for the physical tests and the vehicle dynamic analysis pointed out the hidden trouble in design and assembly during our research. After the diversiform period in the 20th century, there will be a stage of integration in the future. The formerly independent CAE tools, like MBS and FEM, and the new visual tools like VR (Virtual Reality) will be linked together to make the simulation exacter, rapider and coverall. That is our common objective.
