The results of theoretical and experimental study on probabilistic characteristics of turbulent flow verified in a towing tank with the help of specially developed Lazer Doppler anemometer are presented. The probabilistic-wave model of two-layer turbulent boundary layer is formalized. Physical turbulence model generalises data of known experiments in different conditions. Mathematical model is built on methods probabilistic theory of random nonlinear fluctuations. Such approach has ensured sufficient accuracy of calculation of all necessary parameters of flow in the area of transition without attraction of some additional empirical data. The experimental spectra of turbulence, received in the towing tank. correlates well with theory data.
