Mitigation Strategies of Nitrous Oxide Emission from Agricultural Soils

Both of a pot and a field vegetable experiments with three treatments: 1) nitrogen fertilizer (0, 3.91, 7.82 g urea, and 304 g org. fertilizer pot~(-1) for pot experiment, and 0, 261, 522 kg urea, and 15 ton organic fertilizer ha~(-1) for field experiment), 2) water management (adequate water amount and amount two times which), and 3) nitrification inhibitor (with and without dicyandia-mide) were conducted for two years to examine mitigation strategies of nitrous oxide emission from the agricultural soils. Results showed that the suggested mitigation strategies of nitrous oxide emission from the agricultural soils are application of adequate amount of nitrogen fertilizer according to the fertilizer rate recommended by the government, irrigation of adequate water amount depended on the crop, and application of nitrification inhibitor if necessary.
