NEW POLYMERIZABLE SURFACTANT FOR EMULSION POLYMERIZATION

A new family of polymerizable surfactants is described in this abstract. This new family of polymerizable surfactants can be used as the sole surfactant in the emulsion polymerization of acrylic monomers. . Latexes made from this group of surfactants have a narrow distribution, low foaming properties and high surface tension, as well as other desired performances. Paints formulated with the latex have superior dry/wet adhesion and wet scrub resistance on various substrates.
