Recently, we have reported that the crystal with all trans conformation of syndiotactic polypropylene (sPP) can be obtained by soaking in ice-water for several hours from the melt, although the conventional method is required for the cold drawing process to obtain the all trans conformation. However cur previous result on cross polarization / magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) ~(13)C NMR spectrum contained the contribution of another stable conformation with the trans-trans-gauche-gauche (t_2g_2) sequence. Therefore the purpose of this paper is to elucidate the crystallization condition of all trans and t_2g_2 conformation. As the solid state C NMR is not suitable for time-resolved measurements, the fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used in this investigation.
