New functional lignin (lignophenol), which was separated from a phase separative reaction system at room temperature, retained a network structure of native lignin and had a special affinity for some proteins. Endotoxin is composed of lipopolysaccharid, which is the outer cell-wall component of Gram-negative bacterials, Eudotoxin leads organism to fever, in serious case it leads up the patient to shock. Eodotoxin is very stable to heat or organic solvents. The normal sterile working is difficult to remove endotoxin. Our research showed that lignophenol can adsorb endotoxin in aqueous solution. The adsorbed endotoxin was released when an organic solvent was added to the system.
